Calfornia Frees 55 000 Prisoners
California will release about 55 000 prisoners from jails because of the cash crisis and the jails are overcrowded. This number is about one third of the total jail's population.
This is needed because Calfornia can no longer afford to keep more and more prisoners, for example, housing a prisoner it costs for the state 46 000 dollars a year, and the state government is in deficit of 12 bn dollars.
The overcrowding caused a lot of problem in jails, for example an inmate dies every month.
